Ron Paul, Social Security Critic, Admits Benefiting from It

June 22, 2012

Ron Paul, one of the candidates for the Republican presidential race and a critic of the Social Security program, admitted that he is actually receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI) checks.

Appearing on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Paul maintained that he would keep Social Security longer than some of the other in his party.

He stated, though, that young people should “opt out of the Social Security” but that his “goal isn’t to cut” the system totally.

Paul remains as a GOP presidential candidate despite him being no longer active in the campaigns.

If he is elected, he said that he’ll plan to allow citizens under age 25 to give up Social Security so that they could save their own money come retirement.
