Woman indicted for Taking SS benefits of Dead Mother

East St. Louis – A woman from St. Clair County was indicted Wednesday for taking Social Security benefits that was intended for her deceased mother, according to court documents.
The indictment of the woman, identified as Jo Ann Corvington, says that she was able to receive benefits from 2001 to 2007 amounting to about $56,000 and almost $5,000 worth of food stamp that she was not entitled to.
Corvington now faces two charges of theft of government property and two charges of making false statements.
